Product Design

Contech is a “Full Service Design” provider. At both our Walled Lake and Portage design centers, we use the latest design technologies and native software to help our customers’ design and develop an optimized product before we begin our manufacturing optimization process.

Prototype and ES Testing Capabilities

As part of our Product Design Service, Contech can provide our customers short lead time prototype components. These components can either be machined from solid- “soft” tooled, or “hard” tooled depending on program timing and individual customer needs. In addition to manufacturing the component, Contech can provide limited ES testing at our Full Service Metallurgical Lab located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Process Optimization /Control / Robustness

At each of our manufacturing facilities, we engineer our process through the use of computer simulations (flow and solidification), engineering experience, and experimental modeling. Our ultimate goal is to not only ensure every casting meets our customer’s expectations, but also provide manufacturing robustness to allow our facilities to operate with maximum productivity. As a second layer of protection for our customer, each of our manufacturing work cells have the latest technology for monitoring and controlling all key process characteristics and automatically segregating any part that does not meet our strict process control limits.
